Recycled Gardens and POPPA, Inc. are volunteer run operations. We need your help!!! And you'll earn a FREE one-gallon plant for every three (3) hours you work.

Volunteer opportunities abound for the gardener , handyman , and there are even opportunites to volunteer from home. Be sure to see our Calendar of Events schedule for current drop-in volunteer times and our dig schedule.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CREDIT AVAILABLE FOR VOLUNTEERS

Are you a teenager who needs to put in community service hours for school credit? Does your employer give you comp time for volunteering? Are you a Master Gardener with hours to repay? POPPA, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) charity which means volunteering for us at Recycled Gardens can earn you the community service credits you need! Think of it, getting credit for watering plants or weeding, potting up donations, researching and writing plant ID tags, dividing plants in the display gardens, mowing, and a host of other tasks you normally do at home for nothing. Of course, if you're outgoing and like to meet other gardeners, you could also help us sell plants at local farmer's markets and miscellaneous events.

PICK A TASK THAT SUITS YOUR SCHEDULE - THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:

Gardening tasks, which require many green thumbs, include:

  • watering
  • potting
  • transplanting
  • weeding
  • deadheading
  • mowing
  • digging plants out of donor gardens

Handyman jobs are:

  • reconstructing our donated greenhouse
  • building a decorative fence
  • remodeling the barn to include a classroom

Volunteer from Home:

  • writing plant ID tags
  • craft-making
  • marketing
  • volunteer coordination
  • mailings
  • grant writing
